My senior thesis was devoted to creating a lifestyle brand that was a product of my specific culture, growing up and living in the Toledo area. Through hip-hop, sneakers, and sports came Glassick.
A mash up of the “glass city,” the young vernacular of being “sick,” and Toledo being a “classic” city. The brand is meant to serve as a sign of optimism for the city and reminding you to stay true to your roots.
The primary logo is the letter G cut out of an equilateral triangle. Within the negative space is an embedded lower case T representing Toledo. The mosaic-like pattern is made up of many different colors, shapes and sizes because that’s what we are as people. Further, we are all striving for a common goal...a better life. It’s pointed upward because that’s where we’re looking to go!
Hand screen printed and sublimation printed t-shirts that represent my passion for basketball, air jordan sneakers, and eminem lyrics.
Brand book that explains the world Glassick lives in. The Japanese stab binding method was used with a shoe lace to further push the brand's environment.
A hypothetical collaboration with Jordan Brand on a pair of Air Jordan XI. Hand painted with a mixture of hand brushes and an air brush.
Not only were the shoes customized, but the box as well. This label shows that the product was made in Ohio and displays the specific colors used on the sneakers.
This style guide is 18" on each side of the triangle. A reference of do's and don'ts that fold out of the triangle into a poster.
